eNdLesS oPPoRtuNitiEs...

Recently, a lot of my family and friends are looking for new adventures in their careers. Given the uncertainties we face in the current economy, it got me thinking... and I guess we all ponder on the issue of "stick n' stuck" - to stick to what we do and ride out the waves or to feel stuck where we are.

In the end, I think my family and friends are courageous and they have decided to explore the opportunities out there. So, to wish them all the best and may they find the adventure they are looking for, it has inspired this week's card - The sky is the limit. I guess what I want to convey is... the sky is vast, giving us endless opportunities as long as we will look for them.

So... three shades of blue with scalloped edges form the 3D sky with lightly blue-inked white clouds. The balloons are from Whirligig Bag-O-Buttons, with brown card stock baskets. The quote is inked on beige card stock using Memento Inks in yellow, orange, red, blue and green - to give a rainbow feeling. And finally, the card is accessorised with a yellow satin ribbon (from Dovecraft Creative Ribbon) and blue rhinestones (by WHSmith).

All the best, my dearies... :)

As promised, this is my second card using the 'Build a cupcake' layered die (by Papermania). This time, I decided to go with the obvious birthday card design. The embossed candles are imprinted onto a cream cardstock using the Cuttlebug 'Birthday Wish - A2 embossing folder and die cut set'. A red paper belt (with three scalloped edges) was then adhered over the candles. Cupcakes were cut from scrap papers from previous projects and subsequently stuck on using foam stickers. 'Happy Birthday' in Memento Lady Bug on a light grey cardstock and two 5 mm red rhinestones (from WHSmith) added the finishing touch to the birthday card.

Tada... The cupcakes look absolutely yummy. I am having cravings now... :)

My little brother celebrated his birthday a few days ago. This inspired me to have another go at making a boyish birthday card. When you think of little brothers, they always seem to be cheeky, spoilt, naughty little monsters... (although my brother is definitely not). :) But, I decided to go along with this concept and used the cheeky monster as the theme of the week.

My cheeky monster was stamped on a shimmering white card in Memento Bamboo Leaves using 'Hello, friend' (by Daisy Bucket Designs) and then modified to incorporate a birthday wish instead (in Memento Tangelo). He was then pencil coloured to highlight his quirky facial expression and decorated with light green buttons (from Whirligig Bag-O-Buttons). The scalloped background and word 'your' are a set by Colorbok Sweet Floral collection - absolutely adore the Sweet Floral collection for its soft colours. Finally, cheeky monster is completed with Lax Glitter Letter Stickers (by American Crafts) emphasizing your special DAY in glamour.

So, there you go.. a cheeky birthday wish for my little monster brother. :) Happy birthday, bro!
