eaSteR bReaK...

Hello all. A little note to say that I'll be taking a break from posting for the rest of April. With Easter round the corner, my friends are visiting from USA and Malaysia. So, will be busy catching up with them.

Have a good Easter, everyone. Catch you again in May! :)

a SpRinG biRthDaY...

Spring has officially arrived. We are having superbly warm weather (by UK standards) the last few days. This has inspired me to go with a spring theme birthday card this week.

Ermm... Not entirely sure on the outcome though. Because the design feels a bit dated to me. What do you think?

So, for the card... the background was embossed with a woodgrain pattern (by Craft Concepts) to tie in the nature theme. Two light green leaves were cut from felt and decorated with four fabric flowers (by WHSmith). The flower cores were accentuated with Whirligig Bag-O-Buttons buttons. Some bare raffia (by Docrafts Papermania) were then added to give the card a more 3D feel. And two shiny butterflies were also added to bring in the spring feeling. :)

The final touch for the card is the 'Happy B'Day' message (cut using Provo Craft 'Birthday wishes' die) and stuck onto a cream cardstock with light pink frame. Three roses from 'Build a cupcake' layered die (by Papermania) was added to complete the spring look.

Tada... the spring birthday card. ;)

bAbY gAL...

Recently, a lot of my friends are entering the next stage of their lives - i.e. having babies. This is a wonderful experience for them, yet I am sure it is rather scary as great responsibilities are to be have for bringing another life into this world. Hence, I want to congratulate my friends on having their little ones and wish them all the best for the adventure ahead.

The card of the week is for baby gals. The baby with its rubber duck and heart were die-cut with Provocraft Baby Die and coloured with pencil colours. The pink/white polka dot and yellow gold ribbon are made into borders from American Craft 'Page Kit Baby', with the flowery background from Colorbok 'Sweet Blooms'. Finally, a colourful 'Congratulations' is inked using Memento Inks onto pink card stock and hung onto the card with pastel flower mini brads.

Isn't this sweet? Congratulations to all my parent-to-be friends. Perhaps... a baby boy card next week... hmmmm...

P/S Sorry for missing a post last week. I was away in Berlin and then Harrogate for workshops, hence didn't manage to get any time for papercraft. Sorry :)
