cLaSsY biRtHdAy...

Goal of the week is to design a birthday card for a classy lady. She is a great friend, who had travelled miles to attend my wedding last year. This has meant a lot. My card style has always been cutesy and pretty so far. So, this will be a new challenge. But, I think it turned out rather well. I am liking the card of the week. What do you think?

For the card today, I have chosen a pearlised cream tall card, and used a floral damask aqua wrapping paper (purchased from John Lewis) as background. The damask paper has a soft velvety pattern, that helps give the classy feeling. The card is then topped with three inchies stamped using Hero Arts 'Thank You Flourishes' stamp in 'Memento' and 'Clearly Better' inks. They are then framed in baby blue and sky blue squares, to tie in the aqua background. 'Sending birthday wishes' (from Papertrey 'Everyday Button Bits') completes the classy look. :)

So... a classy card for a classy friend... :)

biRtHdAY RidE...

More attempts with my new toys from the USA. :) Card of the week is dedicated to my sister, wishing her a Happy 25th Birthday. She has marked this ocassion with a life-changing decision. I hope she will enjoy the ride and remember that it is the journey that counts. Happy birthday, sis!

Sky blue card stock formed the background for this card, with triangular celebratory banners (stamped and die-cut using Papertrey 'Banner Builder' set). A red bicycle (by Papertrey 'Everyday Button Bits') was stamped onto cream scalloped card stock with Whirligig Bag-O-Buttons used as the red and pink wheels. The bicycle was also decorated with balloons and lined with a yellow gold ribbon (from American Craft 'Page Kit Baby') to celebrate the joyous ocasssion. The card was then completed with two messages - 'Enjoy the ride' (by Papertrey 'Everyday Button Bits') and 'Hoping all your birthday wishes come true' (by Papertrey 'Heartfelt Basics').

A simple, but lovely card with vibrant colours - fit for a courageous and wonderful sister with a BIG heart. :) Love you loads, sis.

hAppY mUmmY's dAY...

Welcome back. Hope you had a good Easter break. It was fabulous to hang out with my friends from Malaysia and USA over the break. My USA friend has been kind enough to bring over some new toys for me. I am so excited and this is my first attempt using the new stamps.

It is a relatively simple card, designed for my Mummy as it is Mother's Day in Malaysia today. So, to start... a flowery background from Colorbok 'Sweet Blooms' was used with a cream cardstock stuck on the front. Flower stems and two stray leaves (from Papertrey Ink 'Everyday Button Bits' stamp set) were inked in Memento 'Bamboo Leaves'. A few different colours and sizes of Whirligig Bag-O-Buttons were used as the flowers. The card was then finished off with two sweet messages (using Papertrey Ink 'Heartfelt Basics' stamp set) in Memento 'Tuxedo Black'.

Ta da... a simple sweet card for Mummy dearest. Thank you, Mummy for being you and we love you always. :) Hope you like it...
